There have been so many great projects happening in the art room recently. Miss Walters, our student teacher from VCU, is showing us how to do so many cool things. We have learned about Dandelion lifecycles in kindergarten focusing on cutting, pasting, and printing. First grade have been working on portraits inspired by Picasso. Second graders have made a series of artwork focusing on the five senses and Miss Walters has taught them all about synesthesia and famous artist Wasily Kandinsky. I've been loving how the third grade Canyon Landscapes have been turning out as well as Fourth grades ceramic sun symbols. Lastly, fifth grade has made wonderful collaborative zines about the ocean. What a busy 6 weeks so far!
